Tournament Archive

Body of Water:  Lake Sara-Effingham, IL
Time of Year:    Summer (July 19-20, 2008)

Water Temps:    83-86 Degrees

Pattern: Seven anglers brought 27 fish to the scales (14 on Saturday, 13 on Sunday). Very hot conditions with air temps ranging from the low to mid 90's with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Water levels were normal with clarity at about 18 inches. Most fish were caught on plastics including creature baits like Fat Ikas and Baby Brush Hogs in natural colors or black/blue jigs. Some fish were also caught on buzzbaits, spinnerbaits/tornados and crankbaits. The fish were primarily shallow to mid-depth in 1-8 feet of water near laydowns, seawalls and docks.

Body of Water:  Lake Vermillion-Danville, IL
Time of Year:    Spring (June 7-8, 2008)

Water Temps:    70-77 Degrees

Pattern: Nine anglers brought 3 fish to the scales (2 on Saturday, 1 on Sunday). Heavy rains, severe thunderstorms and flooding delayed the start of the tournament Saturday and made conditions very difficult. Muddy water and 20-30 MPH winds on Sunday continued to make the fishing tough. Saturday's fish were caught on a white fluke with a chartreuse tail very shallow. Sunday's fish were caught on a dark colored tornado "clacker" bait near laydowns.
